Artistic Residency

Since 2017, the Debussy Quartet has established itself in the heart of Lyon with a unique space dedicated to musical sharing and cultural openness. Far more than just an artistic hub, this center welcomes musicians and audiences into an environment that fosters exchange, innovation, and discovery. With its training programs, educational lab, and exceptional musical resources, this residency is designed to inspire future generations and offer everyone privileged access to music.

• A place of musical reference with national and international influence, open to all and actively participating in the life of its neighbourhood;

• An artistic residency where artists from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds meet, ranging from local amateur ensembles to world-renowned artists, welcoming as many young musicians in training as confirmed artists with multiple sensitivities;

• A centre for the training and professionalization of young ensembles, conceived as a veritable incubator of « New Talents”, to perpetuate chamber music practice and, more generally, to develop the musical practices of yesterday and today;

• A laboratory of educational and citizen actions through which the Debussy Quartet experiments alongside teachers, researchers and students, working to renew mediation projects, artistic paths and collective initiatives;

• A field of discovery and encounter for new audiences, offering several workshops throughout the year, short, accessible and friendly concerts, meetings with musicians, open rehearsals, public masterclasses, conferences, exhibitions;

• An efficient and pleasant workspace for musicians and the team that accompanies them on a daily basis, but also for all residents who find equipment adapted to the development missions of an artist today;

• An exceptional resource centre for professional artists and those in training, which provides access to a unique library in France, a specialized media library and a rehearsal room;
