One of France’s greatest violinists whose origins shine through in this festive programme, all coloured by the magical sounds of the instrument, the king of the Balkans, the cymbalum… An invitation to dance! Head east for this programme tinged with gypsy sounds, with works by emblematic composers of this repertoire: Dvorák and his Slavonic dances, Brahms and his Hungarian dances, Bartók and his Romanian dances… Virtuoso bow dancing too with a Hungarian rhapsody by Liszt! The journey through these gypsy sounds will end in Spain, with the frenzied rhythm of Sarasate’s bohemian airs, an anthology of melodies crowned by a memorable csárdás.

'In addition to her extraordinary talent, Sarah Nemtanu is a young woman determined to prove that classical music is not just for the elite, that there are people who are open-minded and in tune with today's world.'

'Sitting in front of his instrument, Iurie Morar is so concentrated that his rigour is palpable. This cymbalum, which has taken the musician nineteen years to tame.'
