For a few exceptional concerts, Emily Loizeau comes back on the stage as a quintet with the Debussy Quatuor. Together, they revisit her repertoir, intertwining voice, piano and chords in an intimate and delicate atmosphere.
Twenty years ago, Emily Loizeau made a remarkable arrival in the musical landscape with L’Autre bout du monde, her first album that became Platinum. Since then, the Franco-British singer-songwriter draw a singular, free and committed way, carried by a sensitive writing and a truly lived stage presence.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this founding album, she surrounds herself with the Debussy(s), an emblematic quartet. For more than 30 years, this ensemble reinvents the art of the string quartet by multiplying bridges between styles and aethetics.
Similarily to their collaborations with Keren Ann or Yaël Naim, the Debussy(s) offer to Emily Loizeau a musical frame of great finesse. The songs, rearranged for the occasion, reinvent themselves in a new light, revealing the richness of their writing and the depth of their emotions. Voice, piano and strings weave a sound landscape where every word seems suspended. The meeting between two sensitive and demanding universes, for one full-of-nuances concert, between songs and chamber music.
